48 Steps to Living Sustainable – Actions We All Can Take

For September, we move on to the Home Category for actions to take to promote sustainability. We are still in the “Toe-Dipping” stage, but soon, after we look at Community and Advocacy Categories, we will move into the “Getting in Deeper” stage. I know you can’t wait. So here we go for September.

7. Lower the temperature setting on your hot water tank. Wash laundry in cold water.

8. Switch your electrical utility supplier to one that is sourced from wind or solar power. (I did this in August and it was very easy to do! Let me know if you’re interested in details!)

9. Change your thermostat by 3 degrees, up in Summer & down in Winter.

10. Give up the disposable plastic water bottle habit and then move on to eliminate other disposable products. (This is a huge action. It’s easier than you think.)
