FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH OF ST. CLAIR—UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING MINUTES
SUNDAY, May 14, 2019
The meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m. by Moderator, Lisa Hughes. A quorum was present.
Lisa recognized Pat O’Connor and Kathy Cilluffo for chairing a sub-committee, including Lezlynne Moore and Barb Jeffries, who worked on the renovation of the main floor kitchenette. The meeting was turned over to Pat O’Connor, Chair of Trustees, to present the proposed renovation and estimated costs. Pat stated that both Council and Trustees had voted to continue with this project. Discussions regarding design and costs have been going on for two years.
Pat recognized Jan Zimmer, for her layout and design of the Kitchenette. She said that Jan had done this design at no cost to the church for her services.
The estimated cost for the renovation with outside contractors, including cabinets, appliances, and fixtures is $30,000, plus a 10% contingency or $33,000. Lisa Hughes said that we have the money for this renovation and would not have to go to the congregation for additional funding. Unless of course you would like to make a donation specifically for the Kitchenette The monies will come from the Fred Moore Memorial, which has $16,234; from church donors of $2,500; and from Capital Reserves for the remainder.
Randy Kling made a motion and David Kelley seconded:
Motion #1: We move that we can move any money from Capital Reserve, as long as we keep a minimum of $20,000 in Capital Reserve, for the renovation project for the kitchenette. MCU
Randy Kling made a motion and Mike Kennedy seconded:
Motion #2: We move to complete the kitchenette remodel project based on the estimated costs presented. MCU
