Holy God, in this Lenten season you call us to lay aside every weight and to run with perseverance the race set before us. You invite us to step out of the boat, to trust your voice above the wind and waves, to look toward Christ who goes before us. As we gather this morning, steady our breathing. Loosen our grip on all that distracts or discourages. Let your Spirit clear a path in us so we may meet you with open hearts and follow you with renewed courage. In the name of Jesus, our companion and our guide. Amen.
